Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) + Policies

Do you take custom orders?

Yes! You may contact via email madeline@earthenhandsceramics.com or DM on Instagram for inquiries about custom ordering. Requests can include interest in ordering a piece that has already sold out, or the creation of a completely new and custom vessel. You will be asked to provide a deposit for materials at time upon submitted and confirmed request so please anticipate this before inquiring. While I am very open to creating something special for you or your loved ones and appreciate the interest, I reserve the right to respectfully decline inquiries or will help craft something that meets my capacity as a maker. Photo references can be very helpful and are welcomed, however, I will never under any circumstance copy or recreate another artists’ work. Please anticipate the time frame for the production of custom orders to take between 4-6 weeks* depending on complexity and order volume.

*This time frame may vary given barriers associated with Covid-19

Do you offer classes or workshops?

Yes, I do! I teach wheel-throwing, glazing and hand-building classes at my community studio: Fire and Mud Studios, located in North San Diego County. I also facilitate small pottery classes and multi-day long clay camps with children ages 4+ in clients’ homes only (must be willing to host camp in a backyard or outdoor space). Classes and camps are coordinated with social distancing as a #1 priority. Please email madeline@earthenhandsceramics.com if you are interested in getting more details about classes* and camps. Workshop ideas are being brainstormed and there are no online classes offered at this time.

*Due to Covid-19, classes have varied policies and restrictions. Please email for details.

Can I return a piece?

There are no returns on any items. Refunds will only be allocated for shipping if a pick up has been arranged after the order was placed. Due to the nature of handmade ceramics, each item is unique with individual differences in color, size, texture and finish. My ceramics are made by hand, never entirely symmetrical, and are meant to be a little raw and organic. Slight variations from the online image are to be expected. If you are unhappy with your order please contact me within 3 days of it's arrival to discuss the issue.
